Accommodation

Participants of the Hawai'i Shakuhachi Festival 2006 (HSF06) will be able to stay at the East-West Center for a special "conference" rate.

All accommodation must be booked by 6 October 2006! Please contact Patricia immediately if you would like to take advantage of these special rates.

EWC Conference rate as follows:
SINGLE ROOM US$30.00 per night.
DOUBLE ROOM US$21.00 per person, per night (twin share).
Please let us know if you are an EWC alumni, as you are eligible for even more reduction of the rates.

Accommodation is in the dormitories of the East-West Center. Accommodation fees also include the use of the workshop rooms and other facilities at the Music Department. Most of the EWC rooms are dormitory style, with shared bathroom facilities. A limited number of single and double rooms are also available on an first-come basis.

A number of rooms have been secured through the East-West Center Housing for those of you who live off the Island of Oahu and need accommodation. It is basic, inexpensive by Waikiki standards, and just a 5 - 10 minute stroll across campus from the UH Music Department where the festival will be held. There are limited numbers of rooms and options available at Hale Manoa or Hale Kuahine (no choice of building, but most likely Hale Manoa 3rd floor). They will be allocated to the first participants who book and pay.

The accommodation is dormitory style with shared bathroom/kitchen facilities. Bedding and linen are provided in all rooms. Towels, soap and other personal toiletries are not provided. Towel packets are available at the front desk for a nominal cost. The double rooms are furnished with two single beds.

Your payment will be processed in Australian dollars at approx $AUS1.00 = US.75cents + a 3% processing fee. This rate will pertain unless there is a dramatic change in the exchange rate.
